Inside Our Climate-Smart Poultry Program
At EMAC Climate Smart Farmers Cooperative, poultry is at the heart of what we do. Through our cooperative production systems, members raise Broiler and improved Kienyeji chickens using climate-adaptive housing, coordinated vaccination schedules, and shared technical support.
“Before joining the cooperative, I lost many birds to disease,” says one member from Meru. “Now, with vaccination coordination and mentorship, my flock is healthier and my income is steady.”
By organising producers collectively, the Cooperative improves bargaining power, quality, and access to stable markets — strengthening household incomes and food security across our community.
